Estimation

Theoretical quality remarks: The book provides 5 chapters on philosophical theories and different approaches, with a special focus on "continental philosophy". The chapter on "research ethics" focuses on different roles nurses can have in the research process and possible conflict of interest.
Didactical quality: Didactically prepared material
Didactical quality remarks: The presentation of philosophical theories might not always be easy to follow for non-philosophers.
Overall estimation: worth considering
Estimation remarks: The authors stress a European perspective. Especially the comparison of different European countries might be of interest for nurses as well as for teachers/managers of nurses. Although research ethics is only one issue within the text, it is worth considering: Different roles and the possibility of conflict of interest are important aspects of research ethics.
