Speaker: Prof. Dr. James Giordano, PhD, MPhil (Director of the Center for Neurotechnology Studies, Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, USA and Fulbright Guest Professor of Neuroscience, Neurotechnology, and Ethics at the Human Science Center, Ludwig Maximilians-Universität, Munich, Germany)
Description: This lecture provides a brief overview of the capabilities ans limitations of current neurotechnologies that are being regarded for such application(s), adresses these limitations as a fundamental consideration for assessing technically apt use, and examines neuroethical issues arising in and from such employment of neuroS/T, toward proposing guidelines and policies to 1) ensure technical rectitude and ethico-legal probity, and 2) mitigate misuse.
